R&M Electrical Group values strong relationships with ethical suppliers who share our commitment to sustainability principles. This Supplier Code of Conduct outlines the standards we expect from our suppliers.
Compliance:
Suppliers must comply with all applicable laws and regulations in the jurisdictions where they operate.
Key Areas:
Environmental Sustainability
• Environmental Management: Suppliers shall have an approach to minimize their environmental impact (e.g., energy use, waste, water management, pollution control).
• Resource Conservation: Suppliers shall strive to conserve resources and prioritize energy-efficient products and processes.
• Product Sustainability: Suppliers are encouraged to design products that are durable, have minimal environmental impact throughout their life cycle, and are recyclable.
Social Sustainability
• Labor Standards: Suppliers shall uphold internationally recognized labour standards including:
• No Child Labor: Suppliers shall not employ anyone under the legal age of employment.
• No Forced Labor: Suppliers shall not use any form of forced labour, including prison, indentured, or bonded labour.
• Fair Wages & Hours: Suppliers shall comply with laws on wages and working hours, providing fair compensation.
• Health & Safety: Suppliers shall provide a safe and healthy work environment.
• Non-Discrimination: Suppliers shall not discriminate on the basis of race, colour, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, or any other characteristic protected by law.
• Freedom of Association: Suppliers shall respect workers’ rights to freedom of association and collective bargaining.
• Community Impacts: Suppliers are encouraged to have a positive impact on the communities in which they operate.
Business Ethics
• Anti-Corruption: Suppliers shall not engage in any form of bribery, corruption, or extortion.
• Fair Competition: Suppliers shall comply with competition/anti-trust laws.
• Data Privacy: Suppliers shall protect confidential information.
Responsible Sourcing and Product Integrity
• Conflict Minerals: Suppliers shall have systems to responsibly source materials, especially concerning conflict minerals.
• Counterfeit Prevention: Suppliers shall have measures in place to prevent the introduction of counterfeit parts or materials into the supply chain. Suppliers must ensure the authenticity of all supplied goods and provide traceability documentation as required.
• Product Safety: Suppliers shall adhere to all applicable laws and regulations regarding product safety. This includes ensuring that all products are designed, manufactured, tested, and labelled in compliance with industry standards and best practices. Suppliers must provide documentation demonstrating product safety compliance as requested.
Monitoring and Enforcement
• Record Keeping: Suppliers shall keep accurate records to demonstrate compliance with this Code.
• Audits and Assessments: R&M Electrical Group may conduct audits or assessments to evaluate supplier compliance with this Code.
• Corrective Action: Suppliers will be expected to take corrective action to address any non-compliance issues identified.
• Termination: R&M Electrical Group may terminate its relationship with suppliers that fail to demonstrate sufficient progress in meeting the requirements of this Code.
