R&M Supports Flutterby Fund Fundraiser

flutteryby fund logoR&M were pleased to be asked to support the Flutterby Fund fund-raising event this week – an evening of curry and quizzes held at Kuti’s restaurant Southampton.

Attended by over 100 guests including local legends – Shaun Udal (former Hampshire and England cricketer and Saints legends Laurie McMenemy, Mick Channon and Matt Le Tissier – the event was the hottest ticket in town – raising over £16,000 for the charity.

The Flutterby Fund is a non-profit charity which aims to improve the lives of mentally and physically impaired children from low-income families in the UK.

The ethos behind the charity is to provide grants to individual families of children to help with the provision of both therapy and special needs equipment and to help fund access to a range of private therapies not normally provided by the NHS. These specialist therapies are provided through Sophia’s House, based in Bursledon Hampshire.sophias house

Sophia’s House offer a full range of high quality therapy treatments for children with a range of disabilities and special needs such as cerebral palsy, autism, asperger syndrome, down syndrome and many more.

Therapies provided are designed to increase the movement, flexibility, co-ordination, sensory engagement, speech and communication of children of all ages – to name just a few.
The therapies offered are designed to help children reach their full potential and are practised in a happy and relaxed environment tailored to the child’s individual needs.
