R&M’s Assembly Division are opening up their doors from 10.30 Friday the 7th of June, inviting customers and suppliers alike to come along and view the new bespoke premises they moved into earlier this month.

The day is being supported by Cooper Crouse Hinds (CEAG) who have provided their specially equipped product tour bus for the day, giving hands on demonstrations and advise to clients with regards to the wide range of products and services they are able to offer.

The new Assembly Division premises have been designed to comfortably house our machine and tool shop, along with our state of the art SMX 2500 3 Axis CNC/Manual Bed Mill, alongside an enlarged assembly area for our electrical engineers.

Up to the date modern equipped offices completes the re-location remit, allowing our design and quotation team to respond to customer requirements quickly and efficiently, offering both a competitive and high quality service.

R&M’s Fixings & Supports Division are pleased to announce that they are now distributing the RMS Flush Floor Service Outlet System, designed for the distribution of and access to power, voice and data services in screeded floors, particularly where flexibility in the positioning of service outlets is required.

“The advantage of using Flush Floor Trunking in screeded flooring is to do with the flexibility it offers!  The use of this type of trunking offers our customers the ability to re-wire and move outlet points without having to disturb the floor screed.  The overall and long term easy access to the trunking and the cabling/wiring it contains means that our customers get reduced overall system costs when compared to standard trunking!”  Nick Dyer-Smith (Director).

The RMS Flush Floor Service Outlet System consists of three main elements:

• A service compartment trunking together with a comprehensive range of accessories.
• A Flush Floor Outlet module which lies within the body of the trunking and can be located at any position along the length of the trunking run.
• A wide range of power, voice and data socket plates

The Trunking and accessories are manufactured in self-coloured pre-galvanised steel. The trunking is supplied in two metre lengths, with three or four compartments as standard. Each trunking length has four separately fixed lids each 500mm long which when installed lie level with the surface of the surrounding screed. A comprehensive range of junctions, riser bends and sealing ends are available for use with the trunking.

R&M are delighted to have recently launched their new Employee Benefits package using the online benefits management system from JLT – BenPal.

JLT’s (Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group PLc) BenPal system was chosen to unify the benefits currently offered to R&M’s employees into one single on line system, allowing employees to manage their options themselves using an interactive  web based system, that is intuitive to use and empowers them to make their own decisions.

R&M originally started the exercise of looking at fulfilling our obligations under new Pension Auto Enrolment regulations, and wanted a system that would help manage this that was simple and easy to use.  BenPal was chosen as this gave R&M the management tool required, with the additional benefit of pulling all of the current benefits offered to employees into one place in a simple to administer system, and enabling us to increase the benefit options being offered  to R&M staff.

“The BenPal system has been a great success with our employees.  It has allowed us to centralise the benefits offered to our staff making it easier to administer and has raised awareness of what is on offer to our staff.  R&M’s ultimate goal was to increase the take up of its contributory pension scheme which is what BenPal has achieved – enrolment in the system has increased by 65%, which is more than we could have hoped for” Rachal Wilson (Commercial Manager)

The Rebuilding Sir Lanka 2013 calendar is now available – an unusual and exclusive gift, the calendar features images and illustrations of the children of  Sri Lanka post tsunami

Registered charity;  Rebuilding Sri Lanka, was established by a group of  survivors in the wake of the tsunami disaster in 2004, with one of its founders and treasurer being R&M’s Finance Director – William Crook.

Initially set up to focus on emergency relief; housing, sanitation, livelihood, medical needs and getting children back to school, the charity has evolved and has built over 300 transitional homes, installed clean water supplies and built toilets in 50 different locations, funded a special needs school, restored the livelihoods of over 1000 families, established a children’s resource centre, built a village, two schools and an award winning library, 4 smaller libraries and an English language centre!
