2012 sees the 4th year of R&M Fixings & Supports Ltd sponsoring the New Milton Cricket Club under 11’s.
Coached and Managed by Nick Dyer-Smith (R&M Fixings Director) the team has got the season off to a good – if unusual start – with their first game ending in a tie against Bashley!
On one of the rare sunny weekends of the year the eagerly anticipated New Milton V Bashley derby took place at the beautiful Fernhill Cricket ground, but despite valiant efforts of the players on both sides the final result was New Milton 76 for 7 V Bashley 76 for 4 – a Draw!
“I am very pleased with the way New Milton played, though totally surprised at the result – this is the first time I have seen a tie situation in my 30 years of playing/managing cricket!” Nick Dyer-Smith (Director).

For those who are following R&M Fixings Steve Cargill and his Big Bike Challenge (raising funds for the Saints Football Team’s Charity) R&M would like to congratulate him on completing the 85 miles on the 9th of April!
Cycling from St Mary’s Stadium in Southampton to Selhurst Park – the home of crystal palace - Steve managed to complete the ride in just over 6 hours – despite the appalling weather conditions.
Steve’s efforts have contributed to raising over £21,000 for the Saints nominated charities. Funds raised will directly support the operational costs of the Saints Education Centre, set up by the Saints Foundation to improve the education of young people in Southampton through literacy, numeracy and IT syllabus which supports the National Curriculum, and will also support local hospices; Naomi House and the Countess Mountbatten Hospice Charity.
“Having never done anything like this before I am delighted to have completed the challenge and proud to have raised so much money for some fantastic causes that the saints foundation are supporting this year. Thank you to everyone that has made a donation. I have really enjoyed the whole experience of the Big Bike Challenge and am pleased to have been part of the group who have raised over £21k for the Saints Foundation well done to all those involved!” Commented a tired but triumphant Steve Cargill – Director
