The Esso refinery at Fawley on Southampton Water is the largest in the UK and one of the most complex in Europe. Situated on Southampton Water, it has a modern marine terminal that handles around 2,000 ship movements and 22 million tonnes of crude oil and other products every year. The refinery processes some 300,000 barrels of crude oil a day and supplies around 14 per cent of all petroleum products in the UK.
R&M’s Southampton Branch has been servicing the Refinery for 20 years. An official contract was awarded in 1993, to date this contract has been maintained. R&M’s supply consists of electrical bulks, all site maintenance and the supply of all non-contracted items.
The good relations with Exxon themselves and the plants contractors, such as Southern electric, has allowed R&M to open a stocking location and office within the refinery. All of the stock within the location is selected by R&M in conjunction with the end users on the Fawley site. The customer values R&M’s input due to our ability to keep customers up to date with new ideas, products and concepts.
