Following the formation of R&M Electrical Group in 1987 we have established ourselves as a major supply to operators and contractors working within the Oil, Gas and Petrochemical sectors. Our long standing role as the MRO Blanket Electrical supplier to Exxon Mobil at Fawley- the second largest refinery in Europe, has helped us to understand the specific needs of companies operating within this market sector.

In 1996 R&M launched a dedicated Project and Export division based at our head office in Southampton UK focussed solely on supplying operators and EPC contractors carrying out onshore and offshore oil, gas and petrochemical projects in the UK and overseas. This has led to us being recognised as one of the global market leaders in supplying bulk electrical and cable packages to this very specialised marketplace.

In 1998 with the launch of R&M Caspian we made the decision to establish our own Distribution Companies based in Baku in Azerbaijan and Atyrau in Kazakhstan respectively. Since that time we have successfully developed close working relationships with consulting engineers, fabricators and companies operating in the Caspian Sea area. We provide vital local stock and maintain an exacting service orientated, can do mentality whilst offering support to many major projects being constructed in this fast developing region. Indeed, we have secured local call off agreements with contractors working in a number of construction and fabrication yards, providing consumables and vital electrical materials and components from stock. We help our clients avoid expensive construction down-time by having equipment available in country- negating any need to wait for materials to be flown / shipped in. This service is in support of our core project business- consolidating and supplying major electrical bulk and cable packages to EPC contractors on a global basis, shipping bulk materials covering the complete electrical scope utilising hundreds of suppliers from Europe and the rest of the world.

The award of project frame work agreements with the Azerbaijan International Operating Company for the massive ACG Project is testament to our success and expertise in this field. The supply list included flameproof and hazardous area equipment and cable to a total of 5 new offshore platforms, a huge onshore receiving terminal and the BTC export pipeline running from Azerbaijan to the Black Sea at Ceyhan Turkey.

In 2008 R&M launched new distribution facilities in the Middle East to duplicate the success that we had previously achieved in the Caspian. This has led to additional resources being launched in Qatar and Abu Dhabi.

With the support provided by our cable division- experienced in supplying power, instrumentation, data and telecommunication cables for onshore and offshore oilfield applications, and our in-house assembly division who are licensed to drill and populate termination, junction boxes and control stations for hazardous area applications, we can supply the full range of electrical equipment to meet the exacting requirements demanded by the Oil and Gas industry.

If you are based overseas our export division has successfully supplied electrical bulk and cables to over 70 countries servicing OGP operators and contractors in remote locations throughout the world. If you are constructing a lump sum or reimbursable turn-key project either our project division can supply all of the electrical equipment and cable via a single source and manage all of your documentation and certification requirements as well as providing engineering and assistance with product specification. We also offer local material support at the construction site through our overseas divisions and global alliance.
